Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the weights shown in the Shopping Basket sometimes different to those in the product listings?
The actual weight of the product is shown in the product listings. This is the real weight of the product. However, both the weight and the volume of a product must be taken into account when calculating the shipping tariff.

A volumised weight is used in the shopping basket, which takes into account both the real weight, and the volume of the product. A good example is a 12 pack of crisps which is very light, but also takes up a lot of space. Conversely a tin of baked beans is heavy & compact. The website calculates the shipping tariff automatically based on the weight and the volume of each product, hence the volumised weight shown in the shopping basket is sometimes greater than the product weight.
