British Corner Shop to back Commonwealth Divers
Three British divers who will be competing in the Commonwealth Games this month (October, 2010) are being sponsored by British Corner Shop.
The divers will receive food items from the shop while they are competing in the diving events in Delhi.
Managing Director, Mark Callaghan explained: "We've agreed to sponsor Stacie Powell, Max Brick and Chris Mears, who are now in Delhi for the Commonwealth Games. The diving events take place from Sunday, October 10 until Wednesday, October 13.
"There are some British food items the divers won't be able to get hold of while they are away, so we have offered to help them by sending these items as and when they need them.
"Some products that the trio have already requested are 'recovery foods', such as cereal bars and rice cakes. These are used by the athletes to 'refuel' after a workout and are extremely important when preparing for competitions. They have also asked us to send them some English tea bags.
"We would like to wish all three divers the very best of luck."
Max will be competing in the 10 metre individual dive event and the 10 metre synchronised dive with his partner, Tom Daley. Chris will take part in the three metre synchronised dive along with his partner, Nick Robinson-Baker.
Stacie will be competing in the 10 metre synchronised dive with her partner, Rebecca Gallantree.
This will be the first year that the Commonwealth Games, which will take place from October 3 until 14, have been hosted in India.
