Delivery cost is based on the weight and volume of your order. The best way to see how much an order will cost to deliver is to add items to your shopping basket, where the delivery charge will be calculated for your particular order and Country combination.

Delivery Times

Orders reach most European countries within 4 to 8 working days. Deliveries to non-European countries take between 7 and 12 working days (UK weekends and Bank holidays being classed as non-working days). Parcels usually arrive at the quicker end of the scale and rarely take the maximum time quoted. These are general guidelines as delivery depends on your specific location.

As soon as your order has left BCS (after 2-3 working days), we will send you an online order tracking link. The link can also be accessed via 'Order History' within 'My Account', which will show as 'Pending...' until the tracking link appears.

Optimise Shopping Basket for Delivery Cost

British Corner Shop offers a unique system to help you get the best value for shipping. In the shopping basket you will see a graphical bar like this one, which indicates how full your current box is.

You can see at a glance that your box is only half full, which means you could add additional items for the same delivery price. Other destinations vary, but for our fixed price tariffs which cover many countries, you can order up to some 25-30Kg before entering the next tariff bracket.

Equally, if you have just tipped over into a second box you could remove one item to keep the delivery charge down to one box. Having the blue bar as close to 100% as possible ensures the best deal on shipping.

Chilled Delivery (France & Monaco Only)

If you are ordering chilled/fresh products for delivery to France, these will be sent to you in special butchers insulated containers. These containers are ice packed with gel ice, so that your order arrives chilled and safe.

This proven method of delivering meat is used all over the world, and keeps products properly chilled for several days. Our boxes usually arrive within 24 hours of dispatch.

As everything is made fresh to order, it can be immediately frozen at home should you wish. Please note that we cannot accept claims if someone is not at home to receive the goods. We provide an estimated 2 day delivery date window, followed by full tracking so allow you to plan for someone to be in to receive the goods.

Short Dated Items

Short Date Icon

Occasionally you will see an item in the shop with our short date icon. This brings to your attention those products with relatively short best before dates.

Hovering over the icon will tell you how many days are left before the best before date, at the time of dispatch from BCS.

Short dated items are typically crumpets, cakes or muffins which are all suitable for freezing when they arrive with you.

Please note the difference between Best Before date and Use By date: Foods with a longer shelf life or those unlikely to be a health risk are labelled with a BEST BEFORE date. Perishable foods which are likely to be a health risk after a short time are labelled with a USE BY date.

I thought it was up to 30Kg per box, why can I only fit in about 25Kg?

It's not an error, the reason for this is that volume, weight and packaging are all taken into account when calculating how full your current box is. For a detailed explanation, see our FAQs page

Fully Insured Delivery

All of our deliveries are fully insured, and we have a dedicated customer service team to make sure that every delivery gets to it's destination on time. We guarantee that any breakages will be refunded. We require photographic evidence of all breakages for a refund to be given.

Couriers - Alternate/Express Delivery

We use ParcelForce for our deliveries. We have embedded customer services support within ParcelForce to provide the best possible service to you, as well as the most competitive delivery rates.

If you would specifically like to request delivery via a different courier then we can certainly arrange that. Express delivery options are also available on request.
