Very bland, tasteless sloppy short pieces of spaghetti, in a tomato sauce, very similar to ketchup but not even as tasty. I don't like tinned pasta I admit, but this is pretty bad. It's so hard to say what it tastes of - imagine a sweet and sour sauce without the sour, I think that sums it up.
I have always purchased the Heinz brand of tinned spaghetti in tomato sauce, but since this was cheaper, I thought I would give it a try. While the sauce was a little tangier than Heinz (and there was far less sauce, which is great), what I found the most positive is that this spaghetti is not the long strands which you would normally find in tins, but rather the raketti spaghetti (broken spaghetti pieces) which makes it so much easier to spoon out of the can onto the bread. The tins also are not pull-lids like Heinz - you will need a can opener - but since most homes have one of those, it should not be a problem. The only thing that made me give four stars instead of five was the unusual flavour of the sauce, but the product itself was great.
Branston Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce is a lighter option compared to the bolognese one, and of course the only choice for any vegetarians out there.
In my taste, this Branston one tastes better and less artificial than the one from Heinz, but this is naturally simply a matter of taste.
Anyhow, this makes a nice, light, easy to prepare meal.
