Product reviews
I bought these in error, and I ended up loving them. They have a good nutty and wheat flavour. Great for dipping in tea or coffee. They are also good with a bit of soft cheese. These are more than a digestive. Don't let the name fool you. They are also good at putting in a bowl of vanilla ice cream.
I bought these by mistake thinking they were crackers but actually, they are delicious. They are a good wheaty colour, thick and crispy in texture, and slightly sweet. They are tasty on their own but mouthwatering with slices of Dolcetto cheese or Camembert on the top. Top marks.
I don't know why they call these biscuits, they're far too savoury to dunk in a cup of tea. Always the first thing I grab out of the Jacobs selection box and smother with cream cheese. For me they taste a lot better with soft cheeses and spreads over hard cheeses, due to them being so thick and filling on their own.
My favourite of all crackers, although these are so thick it seems a sin to give them such a lowly title. They are perfectly accompanied by a good layer of butter (if using solid cheese) or any soft, spreadable cheese - it really depends on how indulgent you're feeling.
My kids love them in place of a sandwich in their packed lunches - 2 Hovis digestives layered together with cheese or cheese spread.
And the Hovis loaf shape to them adds to the English quirkiness that makes us all feel at home.
These are great crackers to have with cheese or branston pickle. They also work well on their own or with sweet spread. The wholemeal in these makes them quite filling, so they are great as a snack. Quite thick compared with your average cracker, but they do make a lovely change.
