The container is tiny and the product inside is, in my opinion, mediocre. What you get is like a reddish colour fish paste which does taste like lobster, but not much different from the fish pastes you buy for under a pound in the small glass jars.

I ate this on a cracker and gave some to the cat. She seemed very impressed with it, but I can't say I was. I don't mind paying this kind of money for something good quality but this left me feeling disappointed.

John West Dressed Lobster in a tin is very tasty. Yes, the tin is rather small but at the price, that's hardly surprising. A small portion of lobster meat like this, however, can make a really delicious rissole or patty if you prefer. Simply add the contents of the tin to roughly half a pound of mashed potato (225g), add some chopped tarragon, sprinkling of salt and shape into patties. Egg and crumb, them fry until golden. Serve with salad and you have a delicious, economic lobster main course.
