I usually buy John West red salmon instead of pink but I saw this on sale the other day and decided to try it. It's pretty good I'd say. I still prefer red salmon to pink but this is still quite tasty. I can eat it straight out of the can on its own! I'll try putting it in a sandwich next time.

If you are looking for a high quality canned pink salmon, do not trust any other brand than John West. Canned salmon is very versatile as you can use it as a pizza topping, in a creamy pasta sauce or to make your own fishcakes or fish burgers at home. If you are attempting the latter, mix with some white fish, add cream, lemon, chives, onions and capers, roll in breadcrumbs and enjoy!

This salmon is of a very high quality and I think it tastes as good as red salmon.

Many years ago my future sister-in-law was coming for tea and my mother wanted to impress her, the house was cleaned from top to bottom, we children were warned to be on our best behaviour, my mum made salmon sandwiches and proceeded to cut the crusts off the dainty sandwiches. I asked why and as told this was the "posh" thing to do.

Years later I found out where the word "posh" comes from.

When wealthy people would sail the seas they would travel Port side out and Starboard home.

This one is just about the best value tin of salmon. I do prefer the pink colour - a bit more 'fishy' than the meaty red one.

I usually eat this (not the whole tin!) as it comes with some good olive oil and lemon sprinkled on top. Oh, and it's also good if you're on a diet.

High quality, delicious salmon. I use John West wild pink salmon in salads, pasta and stir-fry dishes and it never disappoints. With all natural ingredients it's a healthy option too.
