This product contains the popular 'Mikado' biscuit sticks, with a milk chocolate coating, in 'Daim' variant. 'Daim' is a Swedish milk chocolate bar, filled with crunchy almond caramel. As per the list of ingredients, these 'Mikado' sticks incorporate the crunchy caramel component of the original 'Daim' bar. They may or may not contain nuts, and there is no significant mention of almonds. However, this does not negatively affect the quality and flavour of the 'Mikado' sticks. The smooth milk chocolate coating and the crunchy caramel components complement each other very well. The biscuit component provides for a slightly salty aftertaste. These 'Mikado' sticks are utterly moreish, and, in my humble opinion, an improvement on the original 'Mikado' 'Milk' biscuit sticks. Overall, this product is truly worth the purchase.
Fun, crisp delicious snacks. I love the original Mikado, in Italy they're very popular, but I hadn't seen the Daim version before a trip back to the UK. The caramel flavour of Daim goes very well with the slim crisp biscuit, almost as crisp as a pretzel. The quality of the chocolate covering is good too. One small box like this goes a long way, they are matchstick thin but much longer. I used these to decorate bonfire night cupcakes, by cutting into pieces and using as stacks of wood on top of each one.
I was born in France and I enjoyed eating Mikado during my childhood. They have recently introduced different flavours, like Mikado Daim and I tried it during my last visit to France and I loved it. I am so happy to see it on the BCS! I advise leaving it in the fridge before consumption, the smooth chocolate with pieces of Daim will taste better!
