This is what we ate before the mini's turned up the polite 'having a slice' Battenberg...if you were lucky when no one was looking you'd get away with cutting a BIG slice...delicious!

Battenberg cakes are my sister inlaws absolute favourite and a must buy on each of our trips to the UK. They are difficult to find in Canada and when we can they are quite costly. I was very happy to find the British Corner Shop and that they carried these at a reasonable price. Delicious!

Living in Germany my husband misses these kinds of cakes so when I said it was on this site he told me I have to get it. He has now had some and loves it still, we also had our son try in for the first time and he wanted more. I'm so glad we now have the opportunity to buy things like this for a good price and delivery time. Looking forward to buying more for the family.

I didn't know this sort of cake and I intrigued for the story behind. So I order twice but it was out. Eventually, it come and I understand why it was so often out of order. Beautiful, colourfull, mouthful. I served it on a Sunday afternoon to my friend and they were delighted. Second time I served i cut in half the five ars in often to full the cake plate and it was a success, too. The plate was empty within 10 minutes and my friend asked me recipe. I didn't it was a commercial product and addressed to the web Mary Berry's is the best recipe. Last saturday I did the Battemberg using the BCS products. Please guess which ones....

Battenberg cake was always a part of Sunday tea at my grandmothers house. We loved those special teas. She would serve tiny little sandwiches, chocolate biscuits, and always Battenberg cake. Mr. Kipling must have found her recipe because his version is just as delicious as my grandmothers was! This cake does not last long in our home; moist with distinctive marzipan - a true classic.

One of our all time favourites! Although it travels far it's always as fresh as the day it was baked. Needless to say it never lasts very long in our house.
According to my husband I don't order enough of it, but I like to try different things that British Corner Store has to offer.
Which is a wide range to choose from.

I recently tried another brand of Battenburg cake, sent to me by a UK friend. Identical in colour, size and aspect but ... ugh! Horrible! Give me Mr. Kipling any time. Mr.Kipling Batterburg has good quality marzipan in no way bitter and remains moist up until the last bite. Unlike the dry, bitter tasting marzipan of the other brand. Always beautiful when sliced, this little cake is a teatime favourite for its taste but also because it is so pretty.

I bought these cakes for my Grandaughter to try and the whole box didn't even last a day!
They are the best cakes and the right size for her.
I 100% recommend them, yummy!
Margaret from Italy
I like to attack it from different angles. It's nice to take off some of the marzipan and taste it on its own. But you have to leave enough on to taste it with the cake. The cake on its own is not so great but the colour's are enticing. A blast from the past.

In a word - yum! Battenberg is a firm family favourite in my household....if there is any left for the family by the time I've finished with it, that is! The Mr Kipling Family Battenberg is a very fine tasting cake indeed, as well as being very cute and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Perfect for tea parties and small gatherings.
Bruna from Italy
Mr. Kipling must have a very small family if this Battenberg cake is considered family size! I could get through this myself as it is so delicious. The almond paste covering is just thick enough to hold the light, fluffy squares of pink and yellow sponge. Surprisingly, you can also taste the jam used to hold the sponge squares together. As well as being delightful, this cake is so pretty and elegant. More than worth the money.
Les from France
Battenburg is one of my family's favourite cakes, there is no other like it. Thanks to BCS we now have access to it every time we order, but it was fresh and just as we remembered it.
Living in France, we have missed some tastes, but no more! We shall be ordering Mr Kipling Battenburg every time we do send in an order, thank you.
