Product information
Waitrose Loose Leaf Assam Tea certainly will wake you up in the morning. The large leafed tea is black in colour and named after the region in which it's produced in India.
Mostly grown at or near sea level, it's known for its robust body, malty flavour and strong, bright colour. Introduced into the UK in the late 1830's Assam teas or blends containing Assam leaves are often sold as breakfast teas.
This tea complies with Fairtrade standards, giving fairer trading conditions for tea producers, increased investment opportunities and a sustainable future to their surrounding communities.

Product reviews
This is actually a quite nice Assam tea. Somehow, I didn't expect it to be so enjoyable, considering the price rather low, but it is a well rounded, smooth, slightly malty tea and we really like it. We plan to stick with it.
We are a bit funny in our household and only like loose leaf tea because we believe we can taste the bag with tea bags. We have tried many Assam loose leaf teas and we always come back to ordering this one for quality and price. Great to drink any time of the day.
