This was my favorite item from my last order. Two bags wax paper - when did that come back into fashion? - one fresh, the other went straight into the freezer. I needn't have bothered. The first bag was gone in no time, each tall slice having to be rotated in my American toaster to produce perfectly crispy, yet chewy on the inside toast. Butter and Marmite added this bread makes excellent toast! It was delivered quickly enough that it would've made great, soft sandwiches, but this was always going to be toasted. Incidentally, the frozen loaf was just as good.
I bought the Warburtons Thickest Sliced White Bread and it had a very short Best Buy Date the day after I got it. I was able to try it fresh and then freeze the rest. While fresh the slices were a bit too tall for my toaster and skillet but I made due. The bread has a good taste and texture and holds up well to wet fillings. I was surprised that the slices seemed to shrink while in the freezer. I found that the slices were no longer too big to fit in my toaster or skillet so they defiantly got smaller. Instead of this being an annoyance it worked out well for me. Aside from the magic of getting smaller after freezing the bread did not lose its taste.
This bread is lovely. The taste and texture are second to none and this thick sliced bread is my favourite.
I really enjoy fresh tomatoes and if you toast and butter a couple of pieces of this bread, thinly slice a tomato, add salt and pepper you have a great breakfast sandwich. That being said I personally would eat this at any time of the day.
Warburtons bread is the best out there and I love how they provide it in so many cuts. Sometimes you want a thin slice for sandwiches or cheese on toast, but when you want some nice nuttela or jam on bread or toast, then you need some thick slices.
Being a resident in Germany sometimes buying a nice white loaf can be quite challenging. Not with BCS. This Warburtons Thickest Sliced White Bread is sensational.
If you, like me enjoy thick sliced bread that can be used to mop up Soup or Corned Beef Hash, then this is the loaf for you.
Living in a country where all bread tastes like cardboard and is cut wafer thin, it's great to be able to buy a British classic like Warburtons.
I used to swear by their Toasties bread for my morning toast until I discovered this monster of a loaf which only just squeezes into the toaster. Dripping in butter with a mug of tea is the perfect start to the day.
There is nothing like British Sliced Bread and I find this loaf great for sandwiches for the men and for morning toast. I had never tried Warburtons when we lived in the UK but have ordered it every time from BCS. Although it arrives with a short Best By Date, it freezes really well - and when it has defrosted you would never know that it had been frozen - even after several months. Well Done Warburtons.
