Very disapointing cake!! looks wonderful in the picture , what you actually get is a packet of cake mix , no icing , no cream filling just a cake mix which didnt even turn out red it was a murky brown!! very different scenario to the picture shown, not something i will buy again and as they say you love and learn but at least the dog got a treat

Betty Crocker Red Velvet Food Cake Mix is a truly American treat. Who else would have thought of pouring red food colouring in a cake to make it attractive? It's worth the price of the cake just to save on the food colouring required. It is a moist and tasty cake which went down a treat with my family. I also baked one for the local cake lottery and they were pleased with the unusual cake. All in all a great success!

I love baking but usually don't have the time to measure out the ingredients and everything else so I thought 'let's try the mix' as I love red velvet cake. I was definitely not disappointed; it turned out exactly the way I wanted and looked super yummy. The cake was so moist and soft and light, you definitely couldn't tell it was a packet mix. Everyone enjoyed it so much that I decided to use it to make my little ones birthday cake.
