Glace cherries are stoned maraschino cherries candied in sugar syrup. They are very sweet, but with a slight hint of bitterness too.
Try adding them to Christmas puddings, trifle, rocky road, or use them to decorate cakes and top homemade ice cream sundaes.

I bought these for chopping up to mix into my Christmas cake. Another favorite use is for cherry madeira, though since I'll have to ration the remainder more strictly, most likely I'll use maraschino cherries for that project. The glace cherries have worked, as always, fantastic for the Xmas cake! I recommend double-sealing the remainder into the container with a small wraparound of saran wrap or cellotape.
These are a really great quality product from Waitrose. An essential for Xmas Cake and I also use to make cherry scones as well and in a tiffin bar I make. They are nice and sweet but not too syrupy as some brand. You can tell with these that they use a great quality base product to process.
