Nestle Polo Mints were introduced way back in 1948 and during those early dark years of production they didn’t actually have a hole in the centre (hard to believe and even harder to accept).
In 1955 Rowntrees finally got their act together and introduced the all-important hole - the rest is history. Polos are as popular today as ever; an incredible 20 million Polos are produced every day!
Many people hold a special place in their heart for Polos – they really are a classic British mint. This four pack is the perfect investment for any Polo enthusiast.

These mints have essentially remained the same even though the ingredients have changed over the years to ensure they conform to EU regulations. They can be enjoyed for any occasion and in a number of ways. Whether you crunch them, suck them or simply let it disappear on your tongue you will be pleasantly surprised by the great taste.
I buy these mints all the time, they are both refreshing and not overly strong.
Every time I buy a packet it evokes a memory from many years ago. When my sister and I were growing up we shared a bed which at the time was common practice, she was a sly smoker and one night set the sheets on fire, I was awakened by a flame round my nose!. My sister telling me not to tell our parents whist she frantically threw water over me and the bed. Our parents heard the ruckus, she was grounded and I was just thrilled not to be burned alive.
The Polo mints come into the story because that's when she started eating them to mask the smoke on her breath. I ate them because she told me it would not seem out of place if we BOTH ate Polo mints.
Over time I developed quite the taste for them.
The whole world loves Polos - even though I managed to break a back tooth on one once and so am not their number one fan. But in our family, Polos are reserved strictly for the horses, who just love the taste, and will do anything to steal the packet out of your pocket, given half a chance. British Corner Shop's 6 packs are great value, and seem to slip easily into your box without affecting the weight at all!
