What a treat! Ambrosia Devon custard was a blast from the past. We ordered two tins, one to be enjoyed with some Mr. Kipling old school sponge pudding, the other to eat on its own yum! One of my favourite desserts it did not disappoint!
From all the custards I have tried, and I have tried loads of different custards, Ambrosia is the best by far. This is the one thing that I can not say no to. Also, great price.
Ambrosia Devon Custard is the next best thing to fresh. My Mom was hesitant to try custard this way. She made it fresh my whole life. Every Sunday after a nice roast beef and Yorkshire pudding lunch. It's nice to have a can for a quick treat or if only some people want custard. Delicious.
This is high on our list of things british things we miss living abroad. We used to get friends to smuggle this in their suitcases until we discovered The British Corner Shop. its more than custard, its nectar!
I buy this custard on most of my grocery trips. It is smooth and silky, it compliments a multitude of desserts but is equally nice alone. I have attempted in the past to make my own custard and was never successful. This Ambrosia Devon Custard has all the same home made flavour with no compromise whatsoever. I highly recommend that you add it to your next order, at least two of them.
Ambrosia Custard is vastly superior to Birds and every other kind of powdered mix. It is deliciously silky, creamy and has a great vanilla taste. It is very versatile and can be eaten with puddings such as treacle sponge, apple pie or fruit, or cold, straight from the tin! Great to use in custard tart recipes. Highly recommended treat.
This is by far the best brand of custard there is! It is much easier than Birds as this is already prepared for you (so no fear of a lumpy custard for desert). It can be eaten hot or cold, it's delicious either way. Brings back memories of my childhood when my mom would serve this with sliced bananas.
Ambrosia Devon Custard is the perfect accompaniment to so many Puddings or Pies for example Apple pie or at Christmas with your Xmas Pud or mince pies.
Ambrosia is a must for the cook in a hurry, heated through gently or served cold it is simply delicious.
I would recommend Ambrosia to anyone. Don't delay at the moment its on sale.
Custard is a fantastically English product and although many countries try to replicate it they can never compete with English custard, or Ambrosia Devon Custard.
It is lovely and sweet and compliments most desserts you can think of.
Ambrosia is a trusted brand that is very popular both at home and abroad.
I love Ambrosia Devon Custard and I'm particularly partial to eating it as an accompaniment to stewed apples or other fruits. It's deliciously smooth and creamy and more importantly, instant. I don't always want to stir and boil the tradition custard mix etc, so this is very handy. One tin is plenty for four pouring portions, even though it is quite thick.
In Greek and Roman mythology, "ambrosia" means the food of the gods; the elixir of life. What better way to describe this delicious custard. It's so smooth, though you can always wind in a little cream if you're feeling indulgent. It goes beautifully with fruit that has a slightly tart taste, particularly if you add a little coarse grain sugar which will keep its crunch until you reach the bottom of the bowl. Lovely stuff - the best!
Custard, the quintessential British product! This one is as good as you can get unless you make it yourself the good old way. It's very creamy and sweet and will go wonderfully on all your pies and desserts. Being in a tin it will keep almost forever on a shelf somewhere until opened.
