This is the absolute perfect blend of sweet and savory! Not too thick or thin, not too chunky or gelatinous. I personally love it spread on an oatcake, but I could see it as a sandwich spread, too. Might try with scrambled egg! Jar arrived perfectly packed.

I've never tried any kinds of chutneys before, but I do love onions and I love caramelised onions so I thought why not give it a go. So I ordered one Branston Caramelised Onion chutney to give it a go. At first I wasn't sure what to have it with, but after I tried it in sandwiches, with burgers, basically all dishes where onions usually are good accessorize to I added it to try. And god lord it was nice, it's just such a lovely addition to any dish really. The sweetness and still the lovely onion flavor just goes so well with my favorite dishes, takes a regular burger to that omg it's better than a restaurant one.

There are many onion chutneys available on the market!!! some too sweet some too bitter!! in Branston caramelised onion chutney you get what i would describe as in between!! It is on the sweet side with a slight acidity of the caramelised onions!! As other reviewers say it partners cheese very well but the onions always do!! it does go well with a cold meat salad!! tasty product

Caramelised onions are so much more subtle than ordinary onions, caramelising them really sweetens things up. This Branston chutney is delicious and very versatile. Partnered with cheese on crackers, it's a must and is also tasty with cuts of cold meat, either in a sandwich or with salad.

You should always have a jar of caramelised onion Chutney. They will give any cold cut or cheese a great tangy taste. I think Branston is the best brand of pickles and relishes out there, and I have several of their products. Once opened, you can keep it for a while and it is a very versatile product. As you do not need to use much every time because it is packed with flavours, it also lasts quite long.
