Apart from the health benefits attached to dark chocolate this is an excellent tasting bar. I have tried US dark chocolate and I have to say those are not a patch on Bournville. The flavour is not overpowering and just delivers a different taste. I know others have mixed views on these regarding sweetness etc but I very much am a fan of these and this bar is my go to for dark chocolate.

Cadbury's Bournville is a real taste of nostalgia for me, my dad only ate Bournville chocolate and so I grew up eating this too. Although it's advertised as a dark chocolate it's nothing like the dark chocolate we typically think of with minimum 70 cocoa, It's much creamier and sweeter than this, although it certainly isn't as creamy or as sweet as milk chocolate, I do still love Bournville, but I have to admit that it's the taste of nostalgia that does it for me more than the actual taste of the chocolate itself. I do prefer Bournville over milk chocolate, but I would take a bar of proper dark chocolate taste wise any day. On nostalgia days then a bar of Bournville wins hands down though.

This product from brand 'Cadbury' is a bar of chocolate, divided into a total of 6 portions. The chocolate is creamy, but its flavour is not reminiscent of milk chocolate. It can best be described as bittersweet chocolate. It can be consumed, as it is, or utilised for baking purposes. It evokes a sense of nostalgia, for it is one of the earliest products one might have consumed in childhood supposedly catering to 'evolved' tastes. However, given the availability of premium dark chocolates with high cocoa percentage these days, this product, overall, makes for a onetime purchase.

I love dark chocolate and was hoping for more from this bar. It was sweeter than I expected and not as bitter and rich as I thought it should be. It had a creamy rather than firm texture. Also, the price was a bit high for my taste and I would not buy another one at the set price.

Cadbury Bournville Classic Dark Chocolate is a very nice, sweet dark chocolate. I use it in cooking because it brings a lovely rich flavor and is so much better than cooking chocolate.
Liam from Netherlands
Carbury Bournville dark chocolate is a interesting mix between dark bitter chocolate and a milder, sweeter taste. With the usual dark chocolate with high cocoa content I usually buy, I can only have a few squares because it is so intense. With Bournville , I can easily eat the whole bar in one go, hence why I switched to smaller bars now!
Marc from Netherlands
This was the bar that started my love affair with dark chocolate and it's still a great introduction to the stuff. Unfortunately my tastes have somewhat moved on since then and find it lacks the bitterness dark chocolate should have. The high sugar and relatively low cocoa content gives makes this taste a bit fake for me, lying somewhere between milk and dark chocolate.
