This is an old favourite of mine, I remember getting a bar on a Friday as a treat if I'd been good throughout the week as a youngster. I've always had a weakness for chocolate and mint together, and think they partner one another wonderfully. This Fry's peppermint bar is no exception, it tastes as good today as I remember, so I don't think that the recipe has been interfered with too much, if at all.
A must when ordering from British Corner Shop. The boyfriend loves any chocolate with mint, and these are a favourite.
The chocolate in the Peppermint Cream bar was very good. I liked the overall texture and size of the bar. The mint was quite a bit different than I am used to, and it didn't end up being a good thing. It almost tasted like spearmint rather than peppermint.
It is hard to believe that it is the same company that make the Orange cream. They are two totally different chocolate bars that are on the opposite end of the scale when it comes to wow factor.
The way that the mint and chocolate combine on this bar is unbelievable and a definite in my next shopping basket.
Peppermint and dark chocolate is my favourite combination when it comes to chocolate, but there's nothing about this bar that stands out for me.
The bitterness of the chocolate is lost completely in the overly sweet fondant and the peppermint flavour is far too strong. It reminds me of a breath mint more than a chocolate bar.
Just had to comment on the previous review. I have tried in vain to eat one square of this and then stop. I have never succeeded. As far as putting it aside for later (or sharing!!!) I'm afraid that is not on my horizon when eating chocolate.
I admire anyone who can do this, but the little Peppermint Cream bar is too good not to finish straight away.
Fry's Peppermint Cream is quite nice. I liked it but I don't think it's as good as the chocolate cream and orange cream varieties. The peppermint does have a unique taste not found in other mint candy I have tried. I don't usually like to eat a lot of peppermint at once. One square makes a nice after dinner mint. The bar can always be shared or put aside for later. Be sure to wrap it well so the peppermint cream stays soft and fresh.
