First off, a quick explanation: Daim Bar was originally called Dajm bar when launched in its native Sweden in the 1950s, and was renamed Dime bar for the British market until 2005! It’s now known universally as Daim. Phew.
Thankfully, the product itself remains unchanged... this great tasting Scandinavian classic still comprises that mystical caramel substance that manages to be brittle yet chewy, and is also still covered in yummy, mouth-watering chocolate.

I got one of these out of curiosity after reading the other reviews and wow am I glad I did! The Daim bar's consistency is it's the biggest highlight, it comes in somewhere between the crisp biscuit center of a Twix and peanut brittle, but amazingly it doesn't stick to your teeth. It has a fantastic caramelised flavour but is not overly sweet. The mouthfeel is slightly grainy and reminds me a bit of Scottish tablet. Considering the price I recommend that you just buy one, and find a new favourite!

This bar is composed of milk chocolate with caramel and almond-flavoured filling. It, however, is quite thin and the filling is felt only when consuming the bar. The look is similar to that of a plain milk chocolate bar. Biting into it, one can experience differing flavours and texture, which is what enhances the experience of its consumption. The milk chocolate, in itself, is quite tasty. The caramel component is noticeable, without providing for an overly sweet or salty aftertaste. It does not stick to the teeth. The almond flavour is also present, but not overwhelming. The filling provides for a contrasting creamy and crunchy mouthfeel. There is a balance of flavours and texture. This bar is akin to a 'chocolate bar' representative of the quotes 'Don't judge a book by its cover', and 'Good things come inside small packages'. It is worth the purchase.

Today, Daim pieces are being used in everything from flavoring other chocolate bars and biscuits to ice cream and this is how I discovered them and had to buy an actual bar as I enjoyed the taste so much! These are absolutely delicious crunchy caramel bars covered in creamy milk chocolate. A real treat!

Used to love biting the chocolate coating off, just to be able to enjoy the almond based centre on it's own. Definately had one of the most memorable and mad advertising campaigns I can remember from back then... "Crunchy on the outside, smooth on the inside... Armadillos!!!" Advertising genius I think.

The Daim Bar is a delicious confection. The crispy caramel in the centre is absolutely divine and is a perfect pairing with the creamy milk chocolate. When my mother was ill and hospitalised, Daim bars were the only thing she was enticed by - otherwise she had completely lost her appetite - they are that good!
