I do not eat a lot of jam but when I do this is my favourite jam of all. It has lots of fruit and flavour, on hot buttered toast it is particularly good.
I also like to use it to sandwich my sponge cakes together, finished off with a light dusting of icing sugar, which makes an impressive yet easy to make cake.

There are some Jams that you buy and they tend to stay in the fridge for a long time. I am happy that this Jam does not fall into that category.
It is lovely. Full of flavour and has the right consistency unlike some other, cheaper varieties.

I'm giving it 4/5 stars because it is slightly jellyish, like the other reviewer said. But as I love blackcurrant-flavoured foods, especially with scones or toast, I'm still giving it 4 points. It may be irrelevant, but the jar and the label in that combination of colours really whets the appetite. The taste is really good.

I wanted to have a High Tea at home the other weekend and went to my local British shop for ingredients. They didn't have Hartleys cherry jam which is usually the jam we purchase, so we went for the Best blackcurrant one instead. The fruit taste was very strong and natural, which went perfectly with scones and cream. The consistency is slightly like jelly but melts pefectly on warm bread.
