Heinz sandwich spread is absoutely tremendous and very very ersatile l love to eat this old fashioned favourite on fresh crusty bread with thick butter a liberal spreading of sandwich spread topped with a slice of ham!! then we have heaven on a plate but not for long as i tuck into my blast from the past most enjoyable thankyou heinz

5 starsLina from Belgium on

Well, I must say my grandfather loved this. I had never eaten it but when he sadly passed away, half a jar was left, it was a shame to throw it away so I tasted it and yes, I liked it. I like it a lot. It has a nice taste, in Belgium, we put mayonnaise on a salad as dressing, well this is a much healthier alternative so I put the spread on my salad. Very nice and I'm sure it is nice on a sandwich too, haven't tried that yet. Well, my granddad had a great taste and now I will keep up the sandwich spread tradition.

Can't believe the excitement when I saw this was available. I grew up on the stuff and it was always a such a treat! I only ordered 1 jar and made my way through it in a week so my advice would be to order multiple so you don't have to wait! Great in some nice fluffy bread, Or on the side of a salad. Isn't anything else quite like it.

Heinz Sandwich Spread is a true British staple. I grew up with this sandwich spread as part of my daily lunch. Spread a thick layer between two thick slices of bread and you can even pair it with some deli meat like a slice of turkey or ham. The spread is slightly acidic and crunchy from the finely chopped vegetables blended in. It works great as a substitute for mayonnaise or mustard.

4 starsSimone from UK - England on

I was absolutely obsessed with Heinz Sandwich spread as a teenager, I couldn't get enough of it. I've had it in recent years and unfortunately do not like it as much.

It has quite a vinegar-like taste to it and doesn't seem to be as thick in consistency as it once was. It is nice to have a vegetarian spread as you don't really find them in the shops. I find the vegetables to be a bit crunchy for my liking but overall it is a good quality spread.

My favorite. Nothing like it here in the USA, I always buy multiple jars, they never last long.

5 starsEdmund from Spain on

I had forgotten just how good this is, like salad cream with crunchy vegetables so a slight acidic taste but in a smooth sauce with a great texture.

I probably haven't tasted it for 40 years (sad oldie!) and it instantly brought back wonderful memories. But nostalgia is not the reason for this good review. To tell the truth, I was rather dreading trying it unless it was not as good as I remembered it. But it is better! I had mine instead of butter in a baked potato and it was delicious and I felt virtuous for using a lower fat product with some veggie pieces inside.

I don't know whether this is solely a UK product but I do recommend everyone to at least try it!

3 starsBruna from Italy on

I'd always avoided Heinz Sandwich Spread when I lived in the UK, but it's strange how you crave things that you can't buy when you live abroad! To be honest, the spread is just mayonnaise, vinegar and includes very finely chopped gherkins, carrots, onion and other veg. BUT I love it! Delicious on hamburgers or hotdogs if you're not too keen on mustard. Lovely!

5 starsJohn from Portugal on

Heinz sandwich spread is an old favourite. Thick spread with a sharpness in the taste which can be off set with ham or chicken to make a wonderful sandwich. One of those products which, like marmite, has those who are addicted and those who hate it. I love it.

2 starsLiam from Netherlands on

I was quite disappointed by Heinz Sandwich Spread. We buy a lot of pastes, usually Princes or Shippams, and expected the same quality from Heinz.

I found this spread quite thick and sickly, without much seasoning. Even adding some turkey ham or cheese did not help, I really do not like the taste and cannot recommend.

5 starsCaterina from France on

Heinz Sandwich Spread is great on its own for making tasty vegetarian sandwiches, or partnered with ham or other cold meats. It has less calories than mayo and it tastes better too. I don't just use it for sandwiches either: it's great as a topping for hard boiled eggs or on crackers and cheese.
