Mcvities Iced Gems are the fortunate result of a biscuit making accident back in the 1850’s. Subsequent biscuit giants Huntley and Palmer shrank their biscuits during the cooking process and christened the resulting mini biscuits Gems.
It wasn’t until 1910 that they had the master stroke of adding icing to these mini biscuits to create the product we know and love today.
And thank God they did – children’s parties just wouldn’t be the same without a bowl full of Mcvities Iced Gems would they?

A childhood favourite that I'm happy to share with my own children. Jacobs Iced Gems are simply delicious biscuits that feel like a very special treat, thanks to the lovely coloured icing gems. The biscuit is light, crunchy and not overly sweet and topped with a yummy sweet icing. The individual bags make them convenient for treats on the go and help to curb overindulging!

Best part of eating Jacobs Iced Gems was biting off the blob of coloured icing on the top and then the biscuit! You were always surprised to discover that the actual biscuit part is not very sweet. Just as well as the topping more than makes up for it. As beautiful as ever, they take me back to my childhood and I love them!

Jacobs Iced Gems are the perfect treat. Delicious little biscuits with a sweet and crunchy icing. They also look lovely...just like little gems in fact. A 25g bag contains just under 100 calories so you can enjoy them without feeling too guilty. Not really a healthy snack, but still, better than a sugary chocolate bar.

These iced gems are a childhood favorite which I still buy now but for my kids and do sneak some myself too.
Each iced gem is a tiny round biscuit base with a coloured iced part on top which is hard icing.
They taste really nice and are popular with kids big and small. You can also get ones with chocolate icing on top.

Wonderful memories of these, always had them at my party when I was a kid, and my sons loved them too when they were growing up. Nibble the icing off then the biscuit, or vice versa.
I now live in NZ and friends love them .. all adults. Recommend for lunch boxes and picnics, share or just eat them yourself. Have heard on grapevine that Jacobs have discontinued the yummy Iced Gems, such a shame if it is true.
