I have loved prunes since I was a child. We had them as part of our school dinners with custard. My grandmother, who was a chef used to buy the dried variety and put them in her Christmas puddings, I was her 'helper' which meant I probably ate as many as she used. Prunes are not only delicious but also a high source of fibre, an important component of our daily diet.
