With my passion for a tasty hot soup on a cold winters day with french bread or a crusty roll buttered of course i must say how disappointed i was with Baxters favourite french onion soup!! normally i find Baxters very good and tasty but on this occasion i was left wondering what i was actually eating and in a blind taste test i would wonder if you could actually tell this was a french onion soup!! sorry

French onion soup is normally my absolute favourite but I did not enjoy this particular brand. The flavour is somewhat bitter and also quite hard to identify it doesn't taste like onions, or beef stock, or any other recognisable flavour of the stock. Despite the taste, the texture was good, with the onion pieces beautifully soft and the perfect onion to liquid ratio. The packaging is also very aesthetically appealing.
