For some reason stem ginger appears to be a difficult product to buy so thank you to BCS for supplying Opies Chinese stem ginger which we actually use two fold in so much as not only do you get the wonderful stem ginger but also the ginger syrup that comes with it in the jar!! ideal in all sorts of cooking dishes and also goes very well with home baking giving not only a wonderful taste but a great aroma as well

Here in France there's dried ginger on the markets, but we can't find stem ginger in jars like Opies, and it makes such a difference to buns and cakes and - a particular favourite of ours - fruit salads. Chopped quite fine, and with a little of the juice from the jar added too, for good measure.
