Now this is the fish and chip shop taste I've been looking for! Tastes exactly the same as in what used to be my local chippy. Fried fish is easy enough to find or reproduce, chips mostly work OK and British Corner Shop also has malt vinegar!, now I have the mushy peas to go with it. Perfection. My French husband still can't understand why I would eat that, but that's OK. More for me :)

Just received my rather large box of goodies this morning !! Couldn't open it quick enough !! And there amongst everything else was our 8 tins of Batchelor's Chip Shop Mushy Peas !! We have these tins of peas as a treat, to have once in a while, with a huge piece of homemade battered cod and chips, arghhh, comfort food !!

Having lived in England for 20 years and moved back to Norway there are some things I really miss... Fish'n Chips with Mushy peas is one...Chips, peas and Gravy are another. True...I can make Fish, Chips and Gravy easily enough at home and it tastes good, but nothing makes the dishes pop like Batchelors Chip Shop Mushy peas. The consistency, the color, the taste...it all brings the meals together and it is like having a little piece of England on your plate. Batchelors truly is the cherry on the cake as far as I am concerned, no other mushy peas comes close.

Bachelors chip shop mushy peas. Having to have GF food is a pain. When you find food that works you stick with them. These are a great staple. Not just with fish and chips . I sometimes have them with eggs and toast as a quick lunch. I was able to get a whole case in Canada. But will be able to order direct now. Bliss

love these mushy peas by Batchelors in a can or dried ones that you soak over night, I get both easy to grab a can but I love to make my own also. If you have made refried beans It cooks the same way and the flavor is wonderful, way better than using split peas. Marrow fats are dried out in the field's which makes them taste good and healthy to eat.

I made myself a dinner of fish and chips, with mushy peas, and a splotch of ketchup. It was one of the best meals I've ever eaten, from the fanciest dinners I've prepared, to the poorest. This is top notch, and I can't imagine having a dinner of fish and chips without a portion of mushy peas on the side. Fish and chips doesn't seem natural anymore if there aren't mushy peas to go along with it.

Having had Celiac disease for about 20 years now, I have to eat Gluten free GF. It has taken me a long time to try replace my favorite meals, especially the meals I grew up on. Being born raised in England the first 18 years of my life then living in the United States, whenever I go home, the GF foods that are available there are so good compared to what is available here, plus if it was up to me, I would eat fish, chips mushy peas everyday. Plus having worked in a Chippy for 7 years, I know what good mushy peas taste like Bachelor's has nailed it. Whether you like the chip shop ones or any of their other varieties, of which they have many, you can't go wrong, as they know their peas. It takes me a long time to find good GF battered fish here, but when I do I buy as many boxes as I can afford. They then stay in the freezer until I get my mushy peas to go with them. Fish chips are not the same without the mushy peas, it's like having lamb without the mint sauce or pork without the apple sauce. My entire family love them just as much as I do. I thought I had found a great deal at a local store, sorry BCS I ordered a case, but after awhile, I received a message saying they couldn't fill my order. That's why I logged on today, to get my mushy peas, plus they are on promotion today, so I think it was meant to be. LOL. The fish chips are on hand, ready waiting, I just need my delicious mushy peas. Once you've had them, you'll never go back to regular sweet peas. Red sauce Ketchup vinegar anyone....?

Batchelors Chip chop mushy peas are the best out there. They are made out of good quality vegetables, with the perfect balance of stock, condiments and pepper. I like to add a lot of ground pepper to mine every time I eat them. I think they make the perfect side dish with fish and chips, but also with a joint of lamb or beef.

I Bought this product as I was missing fish and chips back home. And here in Finland we don't have anywhere that sells good old fish and chips. So I thought I would make it myself but then I couldn't find anything to make the mushy peas. This was a great buy as I wasn't expecting to find tinned mushy peas that taste as good as home made.
Stephen from Greece
As a fish and chip fanatic, I have missed the perfect complement, mushy peas. I tried these for the first time a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. The texture is spot on, the colour attractive and the flavour very close to good chip shop peas. I will be trying some of the other mushy peas that are available, but unless I find something even better I will have no qualms about re-ordering these.

One of the great British contributions to world cuisine is "Fish and Chips. But for a great meal one needs not only a good fish in crispy batter and crispy double dipped chips, but also pickled onion and gherkin and ..... mushy peas. Batchelors Chip Shop Mushy Peas are a perfect combining good solid peas in a creamy mush. On special offer from BCS with great value.
Ian from Germany
I bought some of these peas a long time ago but forgot about writing a review so here goes....
Batchelors Chip Shop Mushy Peas recreate the great taste of mushy peas that you can buy in any chip shop up and down the country.
They have a great colour and an even better flavour. They are the best Mushy peas on the market!
Paula from France
The French just don't understand my rants about how good mushy peas are with fish and chips. I love them and they are a must when you head the chippy.
Now I can make it at home and introduce my french friends to what they have been missing... That's if I'm willing to share.
Margaret from Italy
This tastes just as good as it always did from the chippie. Foreigners are intrigued by mushy peas, they just don't understand the attraction. I'm not sure what the difference is between these and the ordinary tin of mushy peas though, I'm sure they must be very similar. I even take these to work and eat them cold.
Jessica from France
I love having fish and chips with mushy peas any time I go back to the UK, so I've reproduced it myself and it all goes fine apart from the mushy peas. For some reason it just isn't the same. So these are a great way to get the proper mushy peas at home abroad.
