These are the best poppadoms to accompany a curry. We always keep an extra pack ready for an impromptu curry night. They can be microwaved or fried making them easy to prepare in most situations and the kids love to watch them puff up! If you're choosing between other poppadoms or Pataks, go Pataks!

It's almost incredible how such a simple staple food as Patak's Plain Pappadrums basically a crisp Indian bread made of chickpeas and rice flour can add a delicate finishing touch to a variety of Indian dishes such as curry and masala. Like a lot of Indian foods, it is suitable for vegetarians of course.

Pataks is a brand name you can trust and these Pappadums do not disappoint. A secret we found when microwaving is to place them directly onto the microwave glass plate do not use your own plate, otherwise the plate gets super hot and we had a couple crack I think its because there is very little water in the poppadum so the microwave heats the plate up. You need to stop the microwave and move the poppadum a bit else the cooking will be uneven. With some mango chutney I'm sure BCS sell that this makes the perfect Indian starter.

Pataks Plain Pappadams are a good size. I cook mine in the microwave rather than deep fry them and they do fluff up. The taste is good, not too salty and they make a good crisp sound when you bite into them. I would say they are a bit drier than other brands of pappadams so they definitely need a small bowl of chutney or raita to dip them into.

Easy to cook, although I suggest cooking them in a pan instead of the ovenmicrowave, in the pan they have more flavour, following the instructions for the microwave meant they were burnt and less tasty. We threw them outA great product that I would definitely buy again, Indian foods are hard to come by in Italy so it was great to feel like I had a bit of England with me!

First time I have used these cook yourself popadoms and they were so easy, just shallow fryer yummy. Do make sure your oil is really hot though. Used the same oil we fryer the bahjis in very tasty better than the pre made ones and they travel easier too

So fantastically simple. I never fry them , but I wanted an extra little zing to my curry lunch, so I just popped one in the microwave for 30 seconds without brushing oil on top and it was simply wonderful! Not being able to resist, I had two Poppadoms with my lunch and my curry fish and veggies was complete. A new staple in my pantry fast, simple and healthy. Thanks BCS for bringing me such a wonderful product.

Pataks Pappadums are an absolute must for curry night! They are incredibly easy to fry up for just a few seconds and then drain on some kitchen towel so they are not too greasy. Fab on the side of any curry dish or with a yummy dip. Always a big hit round our house and takes so little effort.

5 starsAlan from China on

Pataks 10 plain Pappadums are amazing. In England I always shallow fried but like every one says be careful with the timing. Here in China we cook with one hob or two at the most. So I put these Pappadums in a microwave, no oil. Got to say just as good and a little healthier. Try it and see.

Easy to cook and added to our curry meal. Stores really well once opened if stored either in an airtight tin or a sealed plastic bag. we thought that because of the delicate nature they may become crushed in transit but no they were whole not even the package was battered. Recommend this product

Ian's review hit the nail fairly and squarely on the head.

Pataks Pappadums are so easy to make but getting the right temperature of the oil and timings are a must to avoid burning.

If you get those right you end up with a great tasting wafer to enjoy with chutneys, pickles or raitha.

Highly recommended.

I love to start a good curry feast with poppadoms. Pataks make this so easy for me as obviously I can't get hold of poppadoms in Italy. This handy packet stores well in the cupboard and they are so easy to make. Once done, they have a great authentic taste too.

Our meal was a real treat thanks to British Corner Shop.

I could only dream about curry and pappadums here in Italy.

I never knew making pappadums was so simple.

With these little beauties all you have to do is heat a pan of oil and pop the circular discs in. In only a couple of seconds they transform into a crunchy and tasty pappadum ready to eat.

Do not leave them in the pan for more than a couple of seconds as they easily burn.

I made a cool dip with yoghurt and mint sauce that was extremely easy yet tasty.
