Warburtons is a great loaf, my three loaves arrived yesterday all perfectly wrapped up well, I popped them straight into the freezer which will last me longer, I have done this before, when to be eaten toasted straight out from frozen works out fine and tasty. Fabulous for sandwiches as well.

Got some during confinement and popped it straight into the freezer. The slices separate nicely even fully frozen so you just have to get the slices out of the freezer and put them directly into the toaster for lovely fresh toasts. The slices are huge compared to what is available in my homeland so it is nice huge slices of real toasts that motivates me from getting out of bed, I lather it with loads of butter and a little marmite and its heaven on a slice of bread. I love the wrapping paper used it is quaint and a nice change from plastic! Don' t throw it away, flatten it and you have a perfectly ecological wrap for your homemade sandwich... Well since you already have the bread ...

This is a great loaf, French bread is mostly quite sweet and is really hard to get anyway at the moment so this is such a blessing. I was a little concerned it may not be too fresh when it got here but it was absolutely fine but popped 2 loaves in the freezer and they have been eaten toasted straight from frozen and defrosted for sandwiches both worked fine and were very tasty, have ordered a second lot as they are all the first lot.

Love this. It arrived today. I wrap half the loaf in cling film and foil and freeze it immediately. The rest we wrap in foil and use. Fabulous for proper bacon sandwiches.

Fantastic sliced bread. Was so excited to have cheese on toast the day the box arrived! Beans on toast were next on the menu - delicious! The bread here in the USA is a dismal - too sweet, doesn't toast well, squishy memory foam bread my boys used to call it! Can't wait to get my next order. Super quick delivery arrived on Wednesday and I placed the order at the weekend. Very impressed.

OMG I can buy English plastic bread the BEST! I live in the USA and the bread here is just well different, full of sugar, chemicals and goodness knows what to make sure it stays edible for weeks.... I can, of course, buy fresh bread but nope nothing tastes as good as toasted Warburtons when you live in Chicago. First sandwich was salad cream. The next one ham. The next a cheese toastie. Two loaves in the freezer have disappeared in a couple of weeks and the fresh is eaten in just 1.5 days. The only downside as a couple of others have said is the packaging I use an elastic band to wrap around the package when it goes in the freezer to stop freezer burn. I am going to try thicker next time too. Oh, and I am buying a new freezer to be able to get bulk ordering....

I was really laughing when I said to a friend that I was sending for some groceries and did she want something she misses and she wanted a loaf of bread! There are hundreds of types of fresh bread here! Well, after a while and a few orders later I have to admit that I bought one! It is true that the packed bread that you can buy here for toasted sandwiches has all been treated with some rubbish because it lasts months!! It is no comparison to Warburtons fresh cut bread for toast and sandwiches. My friend from Manchester has won me over! I am now a Warburtons fan!

Although I prefer to get fresh bread from a local bakery, this is not a bad option to keep in the freezer in case of necessity. It toasts well and keeps for a long time. The bread packet has loads of slices and is soft and tasty. It is quite expensive but occasionally it is worth it.

Great product - lasts without freezing, even past the sell by date. It is still good even when forgotten & found in fridge drawer a week later. Toasted perfectly!!

I ordered this bread and must admit was a little sceptical about it as I was concerned it might be stale upon arrival. I need not have worried, it arrived very fresh and delicious. It is great bread and I fully intend to order more in the future. Possibly the best bread ever!

1 starssean from France on

I hate this bread. Firstly the packaging is not resealable. It comes in a papery parcel shape, so once you have torn it open it is not resealable. Secondly I have ordered 2 of these loaves. One I froze and the other I ate straight away. Both had very hard crusts and had gone off. The first loaf I threw out and the second frozen one has very hard crusts and threw out the first 2 slices and the last 4 slices. I even tried to toast the half decent slices and the crusts were hard and chewy and quite horrible to eat. The packaging I think is the worst culprit, but not sure if it is a delay in delivery that makes the matter worse or if it is just the product.

I have not had Warburtons bread for some time, it freezes well and comes in handy for the odd bacon butty. It stays fresh in the fridge for a good length of time. Something else I will be buying in bulk in the future. This is a good product and it is nice that it is now easy to get hold of.

Since coming to the USA I have missed numerous items over the years. The long list is now down to short list (since I go to UK 2-3 times per year).

Top of my list is Warburtons bread. Seems to be softer. Has that yeasty taste that cannot be replicated in the US no matter what type or cost etc.

I believe that is because there are no preservatives in flour

Living in France, we have fantastic fresh bread available locally but it was so nice to be able to have English sandwiches - I had bought a tin of red salmon in the same order and some cress in my fresh order.

It was an absolute treat to have egg, cress, salmon and cucumber sandwiches with a packet of salt and vinegar crisps HEAVEN. The bread arrived with a couple of days left before the sell by date but stayed fresh for a few days longer.

Warburtons bread has been a staple food in my life.

Knowing that it is for sale with BCS is fantastic. Although I live in a country where there are so many bakeries and so many varieties of bread none compare with this medium white bread.

It is soft, has decent sized slices and can be enjoyed toasted or with a thing layer of butter on it.

Thumbs up for Warburtons bread

5 starsNuala from Italy on

We live in Italy and can't get this sort of bread here - people usually go for fresh daily bread. Which is, let's face it, probably better for you. But what do you do for toast? Italians don't eat toast of course.

Whenever I took the kids to England when they were little, one of their favourite foods was sliced white bread - not even toasted! This is one of the best, lovely and soft.

4 starsMichelle from United States on

Was so happy to be able to buy some proper British bread as the sliced bread here in the US is pretty grim.

I ordered three loaves and popped two of them into the freezer as soon as they arrived - the first was scoffed almost instantly by my family in the form of cheese sandwiches. The bread was soft and delicious and made us miss the UK even more!

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bread in the freezer rapidly went stale; I know this isn't the fault of BCS, nor Warburtons, but when ordering on here you need to order more than one to justify it really (my husband thought I was mad ordering bread from Britain!), so the only option is to freeze them, so my rating is just an 'NB' for other customers and not a complaint.

I'm going to go for a thicker sliced loaf next time to see if that makes any difference in the freezer. Thank you British Corner Shop for enabling me to get my British goodies.

5 starsDarren from Switzerland on

This is the best bread ever, we so miss this now that we are living outside the united kingdom. The bread never seems to be as soft as this one. We love it every time we return, so it is fantastic that it is available on here for purchase. Look forward to tasting it again :)

5 starsLiam from Netherlands on

Living outside of the UK, the food item we miss the most is Warburtons white bread, and we are ecstatic that BCS has started stocking it.

I prefer the medium bread to the thick one as it goes better as toast. Usually the shelf life is longer than the indicated one, and it stays nice and soft.
