Product reviews

4 starsTina from United States on

Uncle Bens has a great variety of sauces and I especially am fond of the Sweet Sour version whenever I'm in the mood for Chinese. I like to cook this up with some chicken and rice. Very simple to make. The sauce has a good flavour, very mild, and includes pieces of crunchy veggies and an abundance of pineapple chunks. I am a fan of pineapple, so the extra pieces work well with my dishes.

3 starsLiam from Netherlands on

I think Uncle Bens is the best brand for exotic/oriental sauces and I always order sweet and sour at the chinese takeaway, so I was expecting a lot from this product.

The pieces of fruit and veg were crunchy and flavourful but, as the previous reviewer mentioned, it wasn't quite sour or spicy enough for my liking.

3 starsChristopher from UK - England on

Uncle Bens has established itself as one of the best sauce makers in the country for a reason, but I wasn't too blown away by their take on sweet and sour with extra pineapple.

I love sweet and sour, but I haven't been able to find a sauce that replicates the chippy's take on it yet. For me, this needed a little more of a kick. It was a little too sweet but not sour enough.

Still, it's Uncle Bens, so I wouldn't have thought that the majority of people would be too disappointed.
